Vision 2 Action Grant Update

The Spirit is indeed moving among LCOP. We are excited to announce our new partnership with Metropolitan Ministries to begin a monthly community hot meal for our neighbors made possible in part by the Vision 2 Action grant we received from the Synod.  Beginning July 20,2026, LCOP will begin offering free community meals to our neighbors. Through this ministry we will have the opportunity to share a meal with anyone who comes-whether they are in need or simply looking for connection giving us new opportunities to build relationships, offer fellowship, share hope and support our community.

To launch this ministry we are partnering with FEAST, Neighborly and the Library to invite our neighbors to gather around the table. We also invite you, our church family, to join us.  Please share this invitation with anyone you know who could benefit from a warm meal and welcoming community.

We look forward to watching this ministry grow and fostering meaningful relationships that will blossom through it.

If you would like more information or you are interested in volunteering please email: vision@lutheranchurchofthepalms.org or contact Krista Jensen at 813-477-0468.

The visioning team continues to meet monthly.  We recently approved a communications plan covering internal and external communications to improve communication to members and communications to our community. This plan also included a extended 6 week welcoming communications plan which we look forward to sharing with the congregation in the near future.  We successfully applied for and received another Vision to Action Grant from the Synod in the amount of $13,000.  The congregation has also earmarked $7000 to be added to the grant budget which our commitment to programming through the grant.  Our Grant coach from the synod is Kari Niedermaier and our grant administrator is Linda Lund.  we are excited about learning how to build connections within our community and build trust with those who do not know about LCOP, our mission or the many programs we offer.

We also look forward to continuing to vision what our future might look like and ways to get there in concert with our church council. To help align our goals and visions we will take part in another retreat this spring involving the council and the Vision team.

Please let us know if you would like to get involved!  We welcome your feedback and your participation as part of the team or one of our sub-teams!
