Karen Wood, member of LCOP, is offering free, confidential, unbiased, one-on-one Medicare Counseling comparisons to our members during Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period (October 15 - December 7, 2025). Karen has been providing Medicare counseling for over 30 years through a national program called, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program. This program provides education, resources, training, and support to staff and volunteer counselors throughout the US. To remain unbiased, counselors are prohibited from holding any insurance license or from referring clients to any insurance company or agent.

Counseling sessions include a comparison of your current insurance against what will be available in 2026 and screening for Medicare Savings and Extra Help programs. In order to facilitate these sessions, we will utilize the Medicare Plan Finder found on the Medicare.gov website. So we can maximize our effort, all individuals will need their log-on credentials for Medicare.gov. If you do not have that information or have no account, an account will be created for you; however, you will be required to provide a valid email address.
