I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. After high school, I attended both Wittenberg University and the University of Toledo. Got into a special government program for cytology, a new and upcoming medical specialty. After training, I was hired at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After two years there, I came back to Toledo, got married, and was hired at my cytology school to teach and work.

I received a job offer from Tampa, Florida, in 1967 and moved there with my husband. While on maternity leave, I received a call from one of the pathologists at Morton's plant, asking if I could help out because one of their team members was sick. They ended up asking me to stay on, so I did for 39 years.

My husband died in 1982, but we were blessed with a beautiful daughter, who is very close to me even though she lives far away. Retired in 2010 and am loving every minute of it. I bless God for all His blessings.
