We are a congregational family that cares for one another and for the world.  We welcome anyone of any age and we strive to truly be God's hands and feet on the ground and in the trenches. Loving service is important to us along with a strong, vibrant worship tradition, music and educational programs to nurture and help God's love grow in this place and within our community.  We give praise, thanksgiving and honor to God through our weekly worship.

Worship This Week at LCOP

One of the great emphasis of the Season of Lent is prayer. Throughout the centuries many Christians have made use of The Litany for their daily prayers throughout the Season of Lent and we will do the same during our Lenten Sunday Worship Services. The Litany is composed of many prayer petitions and is based on the Jewish Amidah, which consists of nineteen blessings. Much of the historic Litany was retained by the Lutheran Church and Luther hailed it as the second greatest prayer after The Lord's Prayer. This responsive prayer provides a structured, restful, comprehensive set of petitions that are prayed by alternating statements and responses of a liturgist and the congregation.

Valspar Volunteer of the Year
            Charlie Stakem

Charlie Stakem, one of our very own members, has been selected as the 2023 Valspar Golf Tournament Volunteer of the Year. This is a huge honor and we are so proud of Charlie's accomplishment. He has put in hundreds of hours over the years working with the transportation committee ensuring cars clean, in good mechanical condition and are where they need to be for players arriving and departing the tournament.   Volunteers provide transportation to players, their family members and VIP guests before, during and after the tournament. Volunteers assist with the car inventory and control the distribution of official tournament vehicles. The committee also assists in the staging (at TPA) and return of the courtesy vehicles after the tournament. thank you for your volunteer work Charlie! And a shout out and thank you to Lovice who is also now working on the transportation committee alongside Charlie.
